Director's Message

A colorful tree art project made with tissue paper and surrounded by real autumn leaves.
I hope this message finds you well! We’ve had a wonderful start to the school year, and it’s been such a joy to see our classrooms filled with learning, laughter, and friendship. The children are settling beautifully into their routines, and it’s inspiring to watch their curiosity and creativity grow each day. This month, we are focusing on all things Fall related, and the teachers have planned engaging activities that will spark learning and exploration. We encourage you to ask your child about what they’re discovering—these conversations at home help extend their learning in meaningful ways.

Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. Together, we’re creating a nurturing environment where your children can thrive.

Classroom Happenings

In October, our students will be working on the letters D, F, L, P, and H. The themes for the month include seasons, Fall, Leaves, Pumpkins and Halloween. Please make sure you discuss all of these things with your children. During the Week of Respect, adults and children will show respect toward others in many different ways. The more often students have the opportunity to observe and experience positive interactions the more likely they will be equipped with the skills necessary for appropriate social interactions in their daily living.

Learning At Home

One of the most meaningful ways you can support your child’s learning at home is by setting aside at least 15 minutes each day to read together. These special moments not only build language and comprehension skills but also create a love of books and shared family time.

As you read, try asking open-ended questions such as:
  • “What do you think will happen next?”
  • “Why do you think the character feels that way?”
  • “What would you do if you were in the story?
Encourage your child to retell parts of the story in their own words, act out favorite scenes, or describe the pictures. This helps strengthen memory, sequencing, and expressive language skills.

You can also make connections between the story and real life. For example, if you’re reading about animals, talk about pets or animals your child has seen at the zoo. If the story is about friendship, ask about their friends at school.
